Sword Fight

Finally! after what seems to be an eternity, the sword fight animation is complete. Like most assignments in this class I had entirely too much fun working on this project and making it as cool as possible. I ran into all kinds of problems with this one, mainly with getting my bipeds to work with the mascot properly and placing the swords correctly. I hope you all enjoy!

Batman Animatic

Here is my six second animation. The project was to use still images and create an animatic in which something moves from one interior scene to one exterior scene. I got to try my hand at drawing in photoshop with a tablet and I had a fantastic time creating my character. I've never used a tablet in PS before so this was a brand new experience and I had a lot of fun with it. The biggest problems I had were of course having the right images for the right job. This assignment was mainly about camera angles and it was hard finding stock images with angles that matched my character. The six second time limit was another large obstacle because the shots I was going for need a little more time to deliver their full impact. I had a wonderful time creating this short, enjoy!

The Hang-Kick

Here is the video of the "Hang-Kick" A combination of a power lift known as the hang clean and a side kick. This was an excellent project and I had a tremendous time animating. The only problems I ran into were making the skeleton work with the mesh in terms of warping and distortion in the knees, I dont think this is an issue that I have the ability to fix at the moment but this project will definately be revisited by me when I can work that out.

Updated walk cycle

Howdy all,

Here is my final walk cycle clip, the animation was made out of sixteen hand drawn frames that were complied in photoshop and looped. I really like the way that the feet move and the overall product however its a bit jumpy. im sure the jaggedness is due to the fact that the frames were all drawn before any animation had taken progress, I'm sure it could be tightened up in photoshop with some meticulous editing but thats not what this assignment was about. I felt like this was a great way to start understanding the foundations of the animation process and seeing
the important elements that effect the final product.
